Open Call for Teachers and Presenters

What is Casa Om?

Casa Om is an all-in-one retreat setting for small groups of 4-12 people.

Casa Om is nestled into 2,000 square meters of jungle 5 minutes from the beaches of Montezuma, Costa Rica.

Located on the  southern Nicoya Peninsula, Casa Om is located in one of only 5 Blue Zones in the world.

Blue Zones are exceptional places on Planet Earth known for inhabitants with long, healthy lives free from disease, strong communities, close relationships with nature, and happy people!

Casa Om is also literally a dream come true, as well as an example of  following the signs of the Universe.

It is a divinely co-created experiment that is unfolding in each and every present moment by  attracting the people, energy, and conditions that will allow all involved to align with their dharma.

This project is entirely self-funded and run from the heart.

The intention of Casa Om is to make accessible to a wide range of people the healing jungle lifestyle that is available in Montezuma and the surrounding area.

To accomplish this, we have kept ourselves small, max 12 guests. We keep our overhead low by offering the basics of what you need and not much more. By keeping our overhead low, we can pass the savings on to our clients and partners. In this fashion, we hope to make cutting-edge health, wellness, and personal development opportunities accessible to more people.

As a small team, we are helping build each other's futures. We are helping each other feed our families. We are providing shelter and community and friendship for one another. This project has enriched all our lives in countless ways and we feel divinely guided to bring this manifestation forward.

By supporting Casa Om, you are saying YES to following your heart. You are saying YES to leaping into the unknown. You are saying YES to having faith that everything is working out perfectly, and all we need to do is follow the next step. You are saying YES to collaboration and co-creation, and to leaving behind the old ideas about having to do everything by yourself.

Casa Om seeks long-term collaborative relationships with teachers and presenters. I will be booking 2023 soon. If you would like to consider reserving space in 2023, please get in touch.

Has electrical outlets all around the balcony to set up video and audio equipment to live stream.

Increase your earnings by offering your retreat online for those who can’t be in Costa Rica!

The Yoga Balcony shares a set of stairs with the Balcony Apartment, which is inhabited by the owner, Lola.

We have limited space for cars, motorcycles, quads, and bikes. We can probably accommodate up to 3 four-wheel vehicles at a time and several bikes, scooters, or motorcycles.

Cooking

Each apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen ready for use. 4-burner gas stove, rice cooker, blender, pots & pans, plates, utensils, refrigerator. There is also an outdoor kitchen in the back of the property that is for staff. Please use the kitchen in your apartment unless otherwise agreed.

Offer to potential teachers and presenters:

$1000 deposit which you get back.

Casa Om is soft launching in 2023.

In exchange for the very low deposit we are requesting as we begin to partner with teachers and presenters, we would like your feedback. We will ask for written and/or video testimonials, as well as feedback on how Casa Om can be improved, both from the presenter’s perspective and client (guest of presenters) perspective.

Because we are still in construction I am not yet able to show you photos of the yoga platform or yoga balcony, or the completed lower level apartment. However, if you feel a YES about this opportunity, follow that. You can view the other work to get an idea for where we are headed.

We’ll ask you to fill out a presenter request telling us about your idea. We will review it to see if we can support your vision and if it is a fit for us. Your week will be reserved after a $1,000 deposit is received.

Upon check-out, you will get back your $1,000 deposit as well as 50% of what you earn. Your rental fee will be 50% of your earnings, which you can transfer to Casa Om at the end of your program or, you can use Casa Om’s processing engine and we will pay you 50% at the end of your program.

So if you were to have 5 guests at $5,000, before expenses, you’d make $13,500 for your week. If you were to have 10 guests at $1,000, you’d make $6,000 before expenses. If you were to have 12 guests at an average of $3,000 each, you’d make $19,000 before expenses.

Expenses could include things like transportation (to-from town, airpot, etc), tours (waterfalls, beaches, horseback rides, etc), or any other services you may purchase from our tour and transportation partners. These expenses can be paid at the time of service or deducted from your final balance.

Expenses will also include food. How you cater your event can make a big difference in both the content and the price of your retreat.

Since each apartment is self-catering, you could charge just for lodging and your teaching/space-holding work, which would bring your costs down. Or you could find a local whole foods or detox or plant-based chef (I know so many speciality chefs, just ask!) and have your retreat fully or partially catered with spa or detox cuisine.

The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. This is an opportunity to lead your retreat in Costa Rica with very little overhead, in a supportive and friendly space that’s your blank canvas!

Here are some comparative costs for the region from BookYogaRetreats.com

Ready to move forward? Select your week, submit your deposit, and we will be in touch.

Location

Casa Om is located in Montezuma, Costa Rica at the intersection of Pura Vida Road (Calle Pura Vida) and Route 624 to Cobano/Montezuma Beach.

To get to Casa Om, fly to either Liberia (LIR) or San Jose International Airport (SJO) in Costa Rica. From there, you have many options.

You can fly regionally on Costa Rica Green Airways or Sansa to Tambor. The flight from San Jose takes 30 minutes and from Liberia a little under an hour. A taxi ride from Tambor to Casa Om takes about 30 minutes and costs about $40-$60.

You can take a shuttle from San Jose that includes taking the ferry from Puntarenas to Paquera and then continuing on an overland trip. This takes about 5 hours. The shuttle will pick you up from your hotel in San Jose and bring you directly to Casa Om. Please contact us for this option.

Once in Montezuma, getting around is easy. The bus stop is about 100 meters from the house and costs 370 colones to go to Cobano or Montezuma. The bus runs every two hours and takes about 7 minutes to either town.

Local taxi drivers that you contact via WhatsApp or find in Montezuma or Cobano center can come pick you up at the time you request. Ask us for help with this once you’re here.

You can rent a motorcycle or quad. Cars are a little hard to come by right now as there is a rental car shortage in Costa Rica (and in many parts of the world) as of this writing (March 2022). Ask us about rentals once you arrive.

You can ride a bike, just remember that the region is VERY hilly. You will see cyclists and runners training in our hills.

The walk to Montezuma takes about 30 minutes down the hill.
